We are thrilled to announce that Imalac was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award in the Startup of the Year, Consumer Products Industries category of the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honors women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the global companies they run.
In an earlier post this year, we shared that Imalac was a finalist. Judges were impressed by Nurture by Imalac, a breast milk expression accessory for nursing mothers that provides gentle compression massage to replicate hands-on pumping. To begin a pumping session, a woman slides Nurture’s massage cups into the bra’s easy sliding channel, fastens them to the bra, and connects the controller. Massage parameters can be adjusted to personal preference for force, speed and hold time and can be saved for future sessions on Nurture’s smart phone app. Using Nurture in conjunction with her breast pump, the woman is able to reduce pump time by 50% and express up to 30% more milk per pumping session.
Winning this achievement, in such a competitive market, is proof that Imalac’s innovation stands against the many other inspiring products that were entered in this year’s awards.
In its 15th year, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business received a record number of nominations, as more than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year. Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 business professionals around the world working on six juries.
With the new Women|Future Conference preceding the announcement of winners, it was a day to celebrate the achievements of working women around the world.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners on Friday night during a dinner event attended by more than 550 people at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in New York City. The event was also broadcasted via Livestream.
Nurture by Imalac will be brought to market in 2019 in a variety of bra/cup sizes and will help nursing mothers express their best.
